The Story Behind Simple Piano
I have always wanted to learn how to sing. That one wish set off a journey that took years longer than I ever expected.
Back in 2014, I figured the fastest way in was to pick up an instrument first. So I learned the guitar. It took about six months of steady practice before I could play it properly โ and I was proud of that.
But singing was a different beast. Even once I could play, my voice wouldn't follow. I struggled for a long time, not really understanding what I was missing.
Years later it finally clicked: the missing piece was vocal exercises โ running through scales on a piano to train the voice, note by note. That realization is exactly what Simple Piano became.
Simple Piano let beginner singers record piano key strokes, build the scale progressions they wanted to practice, and save them. You could come back to a recording any time, play it, and sing along โ turning scattered practice into a repeatable habit. It is a small app, but it holds a big part of my own path to singing.
